Meetings and NewsSeptember 25, 2011: CFUH held its Annual Meeting on September 25, 2011 at Parkwood Baptist Church. Mr. David Bowers, Executive Vice President of Enterprise Community Partners, spoke on Enterprise's faith-based development program and specifically how some faith communities are using their underutilized land to create new affordable housing developments. Also speaking was Dean Klein, Director, Fairfax County Office to Prevent and End Homelessness about the slow and difficult progress in finding new housing units.
March 30, 2011: Tom, Devine, Chairman of CFUH, made a presentation to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors budget hearing asking for a strong committment to the 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness and for funding the Office to Prevent and End Homelessness and the Housing Blueprint. February 16, 2011: "What's Happening in the Homelessness Community" on Wednesday, Feburary 16, 2011 from 1 to 4:00 p.m. at the Jubilee Christian Center in Fairfax, presented by the Fairfax County Office to Prevent and End Homelessness and Fairfax-Falls Church Community Forum on Homelessness. Communities of Faith United for Housing (CFUH) held its 2010 Annual Meeting on September 26, 2010 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax (UUCF). Guest speakers were Henry G. Brinton, Senior Pastor of Fairfax Presbyterian Church and a regular contributor to The Washington Post and USA Today and Pat Harrison, Fairfax County Deputy County Executive for human service porgrams and agencies.
